Jubilee exhibition ‘Woerden 650 years city rights’

Everything you will see in this exhibition is related to the 650 year jubilee of Woerden city rights. What is the history of the Woerden city rights? What exactly are the benefits and how did we get them in 1372? Fifty years ago, in 1972, we celebrated the 600 year jubilee of the city. What did the celebration look like then? Who were there to witness it and why is this celebration etched in everyone's memory here in Woerden?
The showpiece of the exhibition is THE object of Woerden in 2022. We do not know what that is yet. The nominated objects on display in room 2, represent life in Woerden in 2022. We ask all visitors to cast their vote and ultimately to choose the number 1. Please do by filling out the form that is available at the front desk and put it in the voting box upstairs in the second room.
Finally, there is room for artworks by elementary school pupils that learned about 650 years of city rights. The collection consists of paintings and works made with a 3D printer and laser cutter.
To celebrate the anniversary we offer visitors free entrance every Wedsnesday between 3 and 5 p.m.
